AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising partnership that breaks conventional forecasts, the game developer has revealed an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, including free additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Disclosed
According to the authorized announcement, "A strange encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden group.
The questline centers on "strange tests and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Transformations
The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Bonus Material
Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an exclusive katana in addition to several objects secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Addition
This release also adds the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe debuts a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly showcased a 2020 cross-promotional story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
