I'll dominate 'credible boxer' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the novice remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
