Former President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the White House.

He mentioned that he conversed with her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a shooting on Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

The president explained he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president informed the press. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Community members assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s national effort to support policing efforts in the capital.

“Sarah was the kind of student that educators wished for. She carried herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s previous school, stated to the media. “She was kind, compassionate and always eager to support those in need.”

Service plans for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old Afghan national with a charge of murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while armed.
